Your Daily COPpuccino: Episode 9

Throughout COP26, our own Peter Willis will be talking to thought leaders about climate resilience in this daily video-podcast, hosted by the COP Resilience Hub.

In this penultimate episode, Peter talks to Professor Tahseen Jafry, Professor and Director of The Centre for Climate JusticeGlasgow Caledonian University.

Tahseen opens up the tricky question of how finance provided to developing communities for resilience-building actually matches genuine needs of the people, especially women. How does their voice find its way up the chain to the sources of finance? She shares the example of a village provided with solar panels and lights to substitute kerosene lamps that most villagers turned out not to use. And how do power dynamics determine who in the village gets the solar equipment?
