Webinar: TEDxResilienceShift – launch of ‘Resilient Leadership: Learning from crisis’ report
14 October, 2020 @ 3:45 pm–5:00 pm
What makes a leader resilient during a crisis? How can this learning help us to be more resilient as a society to the global challenges and deep uncertainties caused by shocks and stresses such as pandemic, extreme weather event, or economic shock?
Join us at TEDxResilienceShift to launch the Resilient Leadership: Learning from Crisis report featuring the inspiring lessons learned and emerging insights from the Resilient Leadership project. Reserve an advance copy of the report.
The virtual launch will take place on Wednesday 14 October 15.45-17.00 BST (GMT +1).
It brings together participants and project leaders along with curated content from the global launch of TED Countdown (10.10) that sets out the urgent need for transformational change to keep us on a path to Net Zero while building a safe, sustainable and resilient world.
Hosted by Dr Juliet Mian, Technical Director of The Resilience Shift initiative, and infrastructure resilience expert, the panel will discuss the challenges of the pandemic, what they learned from participating in the project, and how reflective learning has helped them to ‘lean in’ to resilience.

Inspiring a transformation towards resilient leadership
Conversation architect and expert listener, Peter Willis, will be reunited with the panel. He was instrumental in guiding the project’s use of reflective learning and personally interviewed the 12 participants each week over 16 weeks of the Covid-19 pandemic, following their ups and downs in real-time.
We’ll be sharing some of the TED Countdown curated sessions combining TED’s signature blend of actionable and research-backed ideas, cutting edge science and moments of wonder and inspiration.
We need our leaders to have the capability to steer us through this time of deep uncertainty and critical decision-making while demonstrating their own personal and professional resilience and while building more resilience in their teams and organisations. It’s the difference between Resilient Leadership and Leadership for Resilience.
