Do we need a National Institute for the Performance and Resilience of Complex Engineering Systems? (ENCORE Final Event)
Dr Juliet Mian, Resilience Shift Technical Director, will be speaking on putting theory into practice at the ENCORE Network+ final event which asks the question ‘Do we need a National Institute for the Performance and Resilience of Complex Engineering Systems?’ (ENCORE Final Event)
As the ENCORE Network+ draws to a close, it will examine the research activities that ENCORE has helped to generate over the past three years. The ENCORE Network+ has aimed to address the Grand Challenge area of Risk and Resilience in Complex Engineered Systems (CES). Their final event will showcase our outputs over the last three years as well as feature discussions on longer term ambitions. Speakers will reflect on project progress and how we can continue to explore research in this important area.
The event will feature a presentation of the network deliverables and the perspective of our industrial partners on the results of the network beyond the academic environment. The day will be used to present the next steps, including the launch of the research roadmap, the submission of a programme grant, and the planning for a Complexity Engineering Systems Institute.
Speakers will include Prof. Martin Mayfield, Professor Liz Varga, Nic Holt, Emeritus Fujtsu Fellow, Dr Thomas Dolan, UCL, Dr Rachel Freeman, Dr Weisi Guo, Dr Giuliano Punzo and the Resilience Shift’s Dr Juliet Mian.
